The Windham Chamber Singers gained international attention in 1996 by winning the Prize of Vienna at the 25th International Youth and Music Festival in Vienna, Austria. Their accomplishments have been recognized on the NBC Nightly News and National Public Radio. The Chamber Singers have appeared on CBS This Morning, the Today Show, and in their own prime time holiday special broadcast on WGME TV. They have performed for 2 Presidents, including a command performance at the White House for the Congressional Ball. On Easter Sunday, 1998, they made their debut at Carnegie Hall. The Chamber Singers have appeared in concert with artists including Kenny Rogers, Andy Williams, John Rutter, Josh Groban, Jodi Benson, Susan Egan, Noel Paul Stookey (Peter, Paul and Mary), Capathia Jenkins, Sutton Foster, Norm Lewis, Lakisha Jones and Rachel York. In December, 2012, they made their 3rd appearance at the Magic of Christmas concerts with the Portland Symphony Orchestra.
In June, 2013, they celebrated the 25th anniversary of the choir with a 3-day reunion that welcomed back over 150 alumni from the group. The Windham Chamber Singers recently released their 4th studio album, in collaboration with Pine Point Records, Holiday Snapshot. In June, 2013, they released a commemorative recording CD which includes previously unreleased recordings from the past 25 years.
Each year the choir tours the Northeast, presenting assemblies and workshops at area schools in addition to public concerts. In April 2016, they spent 5 days in New York City with return performances at St. Patrick’s Cathedral and Carnegie Hall. In April, 2017, they will spend 5 days touring Atlantic Canada with performances in New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island.
